Summary

A family-friendly mystery adventure with an exotic New Orleans setting, starring a lovable young heroine.

14 year old Viva visits her tough but loving grandmother in New Orleans every summer, but this year, she’s in for way more than she bargained for. Gram reads a newspaper article claiming the children’s song Miss Mary Mack is really a treasure map. In no time, Viva’s inquisitiveness is carrying her away. At first, her curiosity is motivated by a determination to make her summer more exciting than the rather dull one she had envisioned. But as she dives deeper into the mystery, she realizes there is a lot more to it than she imagined. Her determination to follow clues leads to exploration of many colorful and thrilling places including the French Quarter, an exclusive Jazz club, a spooky cemetery, the zoo, circus trapeze class, and an abandoned ranch. The result of her perseverance is a life changing adventure that will revolutionize the way she sees herself, the world, and most of all, her grandmother. Viva’s story of exploration, self-discovery, and adventure is the perfect way to entertain the whole family on a long car ride or during quarantine. Kids won’t mind having to stay inside with this one and will be begging for just one more chapter in no time!
